A studio, not a factory.

FORMA is a small studio in Bengaluru. Six designers, one print floor. We design objects we’d want to live with — and then we print them, one by one.

01 — Our story

Where FORMA came from.

We started FORMA because we wanted objects that lived at the intersection of craft and computation — objects that feel made, not manufactured.

The studio began in 2024 in a small Bengaluru workshop. Today we work with designers across India — Bengaluru, Bombay, Jaipur, Goa — and ship our objects to homes across the country.

Every object is printed on the same floor, hand-finished by the same hands, packed by the same people. We don’t pretend our seams don’t exist. We sign them.

From a drawing to a few hundred layers.

The print process

Sketch
Every object begins as a drawing — a profile, a shadow, a proportion borrowed from somewhere in India. It is modelled only once the drawing is worth keeping.

Slice
The model is cut into layers 0.2 mm tall. Wall thickness, infill and the direction of the grain are decided here; they change how light lands on the finished surface.

Print
One printer, one object at a time, in recycled PLA. A vase is a few hundred layers and most of a working day. We print to order, so nothing waits in a warehouse.

Finish
Supports come off by hand. Seams are sanded, then signed rather than hidden. Every piece is inspected in daylight before it is wrapped in linen paper.

03 — Materials

Material-led, not marketing-led.

Plant-based PLA in the studio’s own palette, wood and mineral blends for warmth and weight, recycled PETG where strength matters. Each finish is an honest expression of what the material does well.
